I was folding clothes during Ezra, so I didn't underline anything, but the book of Nehemiah was too incredible to ignore, I had to underline.
I think we can learn a lot about spiritual warfare and celebrating the goodness of God from Nehemiah. The following are just passages of scripture in Nehemiah that I found interesting or useful. There are too many to list, I encourage you to study this book. The links take you to the passage online. There, you can change to your favorite translation.
The king said to me, "What is it you want?" Then I prayed to the God of heaven,
(
He must have prayed in his mind because he was in front of the king)

Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt the
Sheep Gate. They
dedicated it and set its doors in place, building as far as the Tower of the Hundred, which they dedicated, and as far as the Tower of Hananel.

Hear us, O our God, for we are despised.
Turn their insults back on their own heads. Give them over as plunder in a land of captivity.
(a "reverse the curse" prayer)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%204:4;&version=31;
Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places,
posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows.
(God is all about family)

After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "
Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes." (
staying focused while in battle - whose battle is it? and who are you fighting for. Great encouragement for warriors)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%204:14;&version=31;
I pondered them in my mind and then accused the nobles and officials. I told them, "You are exacting usury from your own countrymen!" So I called together a large meeting to deal with them.
(He put some thought into what he was going to say before he made a decision)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%205:7;&version=31;
"As far as possible, we have bought back our Jewish brothers who were sold to the Gentiles. Now you are selling your brothers, only for them to be sold back to us!"
They kept quiet, because they could find nothing to say.
(
Cat got your tongue?)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%205:8;&version=31;
At this the
whole assembly said, "Amen," and praised the LORD. And the people did as they had promised.
(Unity - One Voice - Powerful!)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%205:13;&version=31;
Remember me with favor, O my God, for all I have done for these people.
(I haven't thought about it enought to have an opinion, I just found it interesting)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%205:19;&version=31;
He had been hired to intimidate me so that I would commit a sin by doing this, and then they would give me a bad name to discredit me.
(He definitely had to be in tune with God to discern the intentions of these people!)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%206:13;&version=31;
Remember Tobiah and Sanballat, O my God, because of what they have done; remember also the prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets who have been trying to intimidate me.
(praying for enemies and uhoh a bad prophetess)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%206:14;&version=31;
So my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles...
(just another example of God's working in us)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%207:5;&version=31;
Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

They
stood where they were and
read from the Book of the Law of the LORD their God for a
quarter of the day, and spent
another quarter in
confession and in
worshiping the LORD their God.
(Nice!!)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%209:3;&version=31;
"Stand up and praise the LORD your God.......You give life to everything......You have kept your promises because you are righteous.......You gave your good Spirit to instruct them.....From heaven you heard them, and in your great compassion you gave them deliverers, who rescued them from teh hand of their enemies.....by your Spirit you admonished them through your prophets.....You are a gracious and wonderful God......who keeps his covenant of love....

.....we are making a binding agreement, putting it in writing.....
(always put it in writing!!)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%209:38;&version=31;
And the leaders of the Levites were Hashabiah, Sherebiah, Jeshua son of Kadmiel, and their associates,
who stood opposite them to give praise and thanksgiving, one section responding to the other, as prescribed by David the man of God.(Harp and Bowl!! If you've never tried it, you are missing out. The Spirit of God is always evident whenever I have prayed with others in this manner, it is wonderful!) http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%2012:24;&version=31;
......I also assigned two large choirs to give thanks.......

I gave orders to
purify the rooms,....
(interesting)
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%2013:9;&version=31;
I rebuked them and
called curses down on them.
I beat some of the men and
pulled out their hair. I made them take an oath in God's name and said: "You are not to give your daughters in marriage to their sons, nor are you to take their daughters in marriage for your sons or for yourselves. 26 Was it not because of marriages like these that Solomon king of Israel sinned? Among the many nations there was no king like him. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel, but even he was led into sin by foreign women.
(I guess he was real serious about not marrying foreigners!)http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Nehemiah%2013:25;&version=31; and
